U in Mind Design was born from the hands and heart of Jennifer Beeson - a creative soul whose journey began not in a sewing room, but in the warmth of a bustling kitchen. With a degree in culinary arts and years of experience crafting confections in bakeries and restaurants, Jen always found joy in creating something meaningful from scratch. That same joy eventually led her down a different path - choosing to step away from the culinary world to focus on raising her son and daughter, while still finding ways to support her family’s dreams.
To do so, Jen took on work in furniture upholstery, learning the intricacies of slipcovers, antique restorations, and custom drapery. But her true creative spark was ignited by a legacy much closer to home, her grandmothers. Both women were talented home cooks and fabric artisans who passed down their love for sewing, storytelling, and handcraft. Inspired by their spirit, Jen picked up a needle and thread - not just to sew, but to create.
What began as a personal passion evolved into a growing business, as friends and neighbors began noticing her handcrafted handbags; each one carefully designed to reflect the unique style, personality, and needs of its owner. Today, every U in Mind bag is custom-made with deep intention. It’s not just about fabric and function; it’s about capturing a person’s essence in something they carry every day.
